Indigenous Tourism BC (ITBC) continues to hear our Stakeholders’ unique short- and long-term needs in planning for COVID-19 recovery with active two-way communication and engagement. ITBC is working together with Stakeholders, Indigenous leadership, funders, and tourism partners in the COVID-19 recovery strategy creation and implementation phase to strengthen BC’s Indigenous tourism economy.

The COVID support section offers comprehensive and frequent updates on credit and financing options,  income and employee support, and Provincial and Federal funding programs. ITBC's Alignment Strategy 2021-2024 is a three-year plan to rebuild and grow BC’s Indigenous tourism sector through COVID-19 and beyond. The plan outlines the immediate and future activities, and will increase alignment between ITBC and Indigenous, provincial, regional and federal partners with the goal of strengthening and improving BC’s collaborative tourism network.

Indigenous Tourism BC in partnership with Indigenous Services Canada and the Aboriginal Financial Institutions in BC are delivering a $5 million dollar Tourism and Hospitality Fund through the Indigenous Community Business Fund.

Grants of $10,000 to $30,000 are available to small and medium sized BC businesses impacted by COVID-19. An additional $5,000 to $15,000 grant is available to eligible tourism-related businesses.
