The Indigenous Tourism BC (ITBC) is working with Destination BC on increasing the profile of First Nations and Indigenous tourism experiences through the Destination BC Invest in Iconics Project. This project will guide Destination BC in re-branding and in the developing its marketing campaign preparation for a post-pandemic tourism industry. The Project is a long-term strategy for re-branding of BC with short-term actions to support recovery from the pandemic.
With the involvement of ITBC, First Nations, knowledge keepers, and Indigenous tourism operators, the project will identify ways First Nations cultures and Indigenous experiences can be featured at this early stage called ‘Place Branding’, and in the next of Place Rediscovery (Making).
