ELIGIBLITY FOR FREE TOURISM TRAINING

We support Indigenous people, businesses and communities with accessible, high-quality tourism training. Eligibility includes the following groups:

  • Indigenous people in BC (First Nations, Inuit and Metis residing in BC)
  • Employees of Indigenous-owned tourism businesses (51%+ Indigenous ownership) in BC
  • Employees of First Nations in BC
  • ITBC Stakeholders, and employees of

COST-FREE TRAINING WITH COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT

All training opportunities within the Indigenous Tourism Training Initiative are fully funded for eligible participants, meaning you won’t have to worry about the cost of the training itself. We cover the costs associated with facilitating the training, including the venue, trainer, materials, accommodations for the trainer, and any food and beverage provided during the workshop.

However, please note that participants are responsible for covering their own travel costs to and from the venue. We aim to make high-quality training as accessible and seamless as possible, allowing you to focus on enhancing your skills and growing your business.

APPLICATION PROCESS

All pre-scheduled training opportunities are posted online. These are open for application or for expressions of interest, if a waitlist is available. Once received, we will confirm your eligibility and registration details. The course details may vary.

POLICIES

We understand that plans can change. If you cannot attend a training opportunity you’ve committed to, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the spot to someone on our waitlist.

In the case of a no-show without notice, your eligibility for future training may be reviewed. We encourage open communication to ensure that these valuable opportunities are available to those who can attend.
