Become the Head Wrangler at Big Bar Guest Ranch, where you’ll lead our Equine & Horseback Riding Department, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences. The Head Wrangler oversees the Equine & Horseback Riding Department at Big Bar Guest Ranch, ensuring its smooth operation and alignment with the Board’s vision. Responsibilities include maintaining the barn and equine facilities, supervising staff, and creating memorable tourism experiences for guests. This role involves collaboration with the Ranch Manager, building relationships with community groups and external partners, and contributing to the ranch’s development as a premier tourism destination. Key skills include customer service, marketing, financial management, and staff supervision.
Education:
• Certification, or may accept a combination of knowledge and experience in operating horseback riding within a ranch environment.
Experience:
• Three to five years work experience in farming/ranch and horse operations.
• Experience supervising Wrangling staff during daily operations and during events.
• Experience in inspecting supplies, equipment, horses, and work areas for health, cleanliness and functionality, and to meet governmental and SXDC operational guidelines.
Skills and Abilities:
• Developing tourism opportunities.
• Planning rides and ensuring the safety of all guests.
• Inspecting supplies, equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
Working Conditions:
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Ability to live on-site at Big Bar Guest Ranch.
