At the heart of our marketing efforts is a commitment to representing the voices of Indigenous tourism interests in British Columbia. By sharing diverse stories, we aim to empower Indigenous futures and inspire global visitors. These efforts help Indigenous communities shape how their stories are told while supporting the development of thriving Indigenous economies and promoting responsible travel.
We inspire travellers to learn about the distinct cultures, traditions, and languages across B.C. by promoting Indigenous-led experiences, including guided cultural tours, hands-on learning, wildlife and nature experiences, wellness experiences, and cultural events and festivals. These immersive experiences deepen travellers’ understanding, connect them to the land and people, and foster mutual respect between cultures. Promoting responsible travel helps preserve the natural beauty and well-being of British Columbia for future generations, while also driving sustainable economic growth for Indigenous businesses, entrepreneurs, and First Nations communities.
As an Indigenous-led organization, ITBC is uniquely positioned to amplify Indigenous stories and help develop marketing initiatives for Indigenous tourism.
